After four years of negotiations involving approximately 40 authorities and stakeholders, as well as 28 grazing rights holders, the construction of 9 fairways with 18 greens and 36 tee boxes could commence. This concept was designed by architects Bechler and Feldmeier. With two greens per fairway, the Golf & Country Club Achensee became not only the first in Austria but also the second in Europe and the sixth worldwide to adopt this design.
